Lato: "I'm proud of the personality that we showed"
Toni Lato chatted to VCF Media after a loss to Athletic Club at San Mamés on LaLiga Matchday 2.
An undeserved defeat
We showed personality from the start of the game. We had our chances, just like they had theirs. It was a very closely disputed game at a great stadium. We leave here annoyed that we didn't score at least a point, which I think that we deserved to do -especially with our chances at the end of the game. We have to keep going and aim for the three points at home next week.
Good work from the team
We had our chances. The game was decided by a few actions. I'm proud of the team for the work we did and the personality we showed.
Fighting to the end
You have to take away the positives. The team fought until the end to try to equalise and get at least a point. Now it's time to push hard and beat Atletico Madrid at home with the help of the fans.
The next game against Atletico Madrid
The season is very long. We know that we have to go game-by-game. Next week we will be playing at home again, and we have to go game-by-game and have confidence.
